Bio: Billy Applebaum (@BillyBillyEdu) didn’t enter teaching in the traditional way. He started his career in New York City as a creative professional in advertising and design. After seven years in the creative world, he moved to Tokyo to teach English and discovered a passion for teaching and living internationally. He continued his education at the University of Melbourne, earning a Master of Teaching degree, and has now been living and teaching abroad for 12 years. Billy has spent the past three years teaching 3rd grade at International School Ho Chi Minh City (ISHCMC). He is passionate about teaching through a #SkillsFirst approach and has also been exploring how to use game mechanics to make learning more fun and engaging, for both teachers and students.
