Bio: Natalie Beals is middle school language arts and social studies teacher in her fourth year at Saigon South International School. Prior to moving to Ho Chi Minh City, Natalie taught for six years in a rural public school about 40 miles west of Washington, D.C. In bridging the gap between teaching in these two starkly different communities, Natalie has focused on cultivating student agency in the classroom, embedding service projects into the curriculum, and galvanizing student interest through gamification and personal passion projects.
