Bio: Elizabeth (Libby) McDaniel (@LibtheLiberator) decided at the tender age of 8 to become a comic book writer. She earned her Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and Women’s Studies from the University of New Mexico, and discovered a love of teaching. Scrapping her plans for the comic book industry, she moved to Florida and became a third grade teacher. As such she shared her love of learning, literacy, and nerdom with her students, transforming her classroom into Hogwarts and becoming a pirate one week, a superhero the next, and an investigator the following to engage her students. She earned a Master’s in Education from the University of North Florida in 2016, and her National Boards Certification in Literacy in 2017. Last year, she became a teacher at the International School of Ho Chi Minh City, combining a love of travelling with education. She has enjoyed collaborating with her like-minded colleagues on finding ways to make learning engaging, meaningful, and fun for teachers and students!
