Keynote Title: Becoming an agent of change

Description: If you’re moving forward slowly while the rest of the world moves forward quickly, in essence, you’re moving backwards.  Schools are notoriously averse to change.  So how can you be an agent of change at your school?  Warren will share his personal stories of change, along with the latest research from economics and psychology, to help you become an agent of change.

Bio: Warren Apel is the Director of Technology at the American School in Japan.  He has worked in international education for over 16 years, including positions at Cairo American College, the American Embassy School in New Delhi, India and the International School of Amsterdam. He is a Google for Education Certified Innovator, an Apple Distinguished Educator, and a National Board Certified Teacher.  He frequently works with the Google for Education team as a lead learner or mentor at the Google Teacher Academy.  He has conducted workshops at conferences such as ISTE, ECIS, NESA and at Google Summits around the world.
